Hilary Boyd is an owner and partner of Beatty Boyd LLP, a civil litigation firm in Portland, Oregon serving clients in Oregon and Washington. She identifies primarily as a trial lawyer but serves clients on both sides of the vee in disputes at any stage of development. After graduating from Texas Tech University School of Law, she tried criminal cases for eight years as a defense attorney in front of juries in Washington State, most of them felony cases in Superior Courts, and has represented citizens accused of the most serious felonies. After becoming Oregon-licensed in 2015, she practiced administrative law in workers’ compensation, defending the rights of employers and insurers, before entering civil litigation and insurance defense practice in January of 2016. She has represented individuals, businesses, and organizations in civil suits and claims in a wide variety of areas, including but not limited to disputes involving insurance, residential real estate, commercial leases, franchise agreements, unlawful trade practices, construction contracts and defects, automobile accidents, premises liability, product liability, professional liability, discrimination, anti-SLAPP, defamation, false imprisonment, assault and battery, landlord-tenant matters, trusts, and business torts and contracts.
